Drew's transition to Professional !

Another proud parent moment when you realize your child has made a transition.

I traveled to Erie, Pa this weekend to see Drew's public presentation of his (team of 4) senior Mechanical Engineering project ... and left realizing he is a professional now.

This was not your ordinary High School science project, but a seriously professional job.

Senior projects are not required to to have prototypes built, but they went for it.

All parts received on Friday, built and 1st trial run Fri. 8pm ... SUCCESS !!
(or as Drew would say ... "and it actually worked")

Presentation, Sat 10:30am ... a couple overnighters to say the least.

Surely the company they workded with (with some production-minded alterations) will look into running with this and consider a patent.

The basic requirement was to create a mechanical device that separates blister packets of medicine into a prefab tray (different size from packets) in order to feed a robotic device for storage and retrieval of large quanties of medicine (pharmacy application). Currently, this process is done manually and takes about 90 sec.
